Engaging events
We deliver an exciting and varied programme of events for our members. This includes regular talks, friendly social and networking events, professional gatherings and activities for families and children.
As a member, you can boost your professional development and share a good time with others.
Talks
Our most popular events by far are our roughly twice-monthly lectures, typically held at Anglia Ruskin University. These fascinating talks by experts from around the country not only enlighten and inform, but also provide fantastic networking opportunities; members have the chance to catch up or discuss the subject together over coffee and biscuits, as well as meeting with the speaker.
All talks contribute to, and can be counted towards, continuing professional development (CPD).
Videos of selected talks and events are available exclusively to members through the website.
Social and networking events
Informal meals and drinks, topical "Café Scientifique" discussion evenings, group visits to interesting locations and other social gatherings are all ways in which members can build up the CSES community and share and develop our common interest in science and engineering.
We typically meet on the first Thursday of the month: see our social events calendar for further details.
Professional activities
We work with local government, businesses, academia and the education sector to promote awareness of science and technology in people's everyday lives and to highlight innovation and industry in the region. If you work in the industry, or have a general interest, this is an excellent opportunity to boost your professional development and meet with key people.
