A large audience of students and teachers enjoying a Christmas Lecture

The annual CSES / ARU Christmas Lecture for Schools is now the major event of our winter season.

Introduced as part of our regular talks season in 2023 with Professor Tony Purnell, and continued in 2024 with Prof Tim Minshall, we have already hosted nearly 1100 students from 24 schools across Essex.

Our aim is to encourage students to take an interest in STEM subjects and consider further studies and careers in those areas. We choose high-profile speakers for their proven ability in, and enthusiasm for, communicating the benefits of their subject to young people.

With the support of Anglia Ruskin University we provide this opportunity for your students totally FREE of charge. Look out for our emails, in the Summer term, which will have details of this year’s lectures in December, which are already being planned, and help us to make the CSES/ARU Christmas Lectures a fixture in the Essex educational calendar.
