Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering Student Presentation

A FREE IMechE talk for the public by Rebecca Lyall, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering student and Reg Tugcu, Mechanical Engineering student at ARU.

From a showcase on the practical applications of mechatronics in inspiring accessible engineering solutions through a robotic arm demonstration, to lunar engineering and exploring the challenges of extreme environment and soil conditions on the design of a lunar excavator.

This technical lecture explores the breadth of engineering through two project presentations by students from Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), showcasing the application of mechanical and mechatronics engineering principles to practical challenges.

The first presentation showcases how mechatronics can inspire more accessible engineering solutions, featuring a robotic arm demonstration controlled through wrist movements using an ESP32. The second explores lunar engineering, investigating the challenges that extreme environmental conditions and lunar soil properties present in the design of a lunar excavator.

Together, these presentations offer insight into the application of engineering theory, design, and problem-solving to real challenges.

There's a seat for you. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Q&A, engaging with the engineering concepts underpinning both projects and exploring the wide range of mechanical and mechatronics engineering.

If you are unable to attend in person, the event will be available online: Join online

Refreshments will be available from 30 minutes before the advertised start time.
