The Role of Metal Additive Manufacturing in Achieving UK's Net Zero Target

Lowering industrial emissions is a global imperative and the UK Government have set dates for businesses to achieve the so called Net Zero target starting from 2030. Some initiatives already focus on how the manufacturing sector can be more sustainable and in doing so lower industrial gas emissions or reduce overall carbon footprints. Additive Manufacturing (AM) offers many ways to be introduce a more sustainable set of processes, and this talk presents some of the examples where metal AM has already made an impact.

Dr Martin McMahon has worked 17 years in metal Additive Manufacturing (AM), establishing himself as a leading independent consultant. His career began at 3T RPD, where he helped to achieve global breakthroughs in Laser Powder Bed Fusion. In 2022, he founded M A M Solutions, helping SMEs adopt AM.
