A guided tour of the Cavendish Lab Museum and the Cavendish Laboratories. For Members Only - Cost £15 per person donation towards the Cavendish Laboratory's outreach programmes - payable to the Society.

We are delighted to tell you that we have a fantastic opportunity to visit the Cavendish Lab at Cambridge University. We will meet at the new Ray Dolby Centre where we will enjoy a guided tour of the museum followed by a tour of the Lab.

Opened in 1874, under the direction of James Clark Maxwell, the Cavendish Laboratory has been a leading centre of scientific discovery ever since. With no fewer than 36 Nobel Prize winning scientists, from Lord Rayleigh in 1904 to John Clarke in 2025, we can expect to be dazzled by both the past and the present on show.

Members will need to make their own travel arrangements. The Madingley Road park and ride is a short walk from the lab and is the best place to park. For blue badge holders there are a few spaces beside the Ray Dolby Centre.

The Cavendish Lab ask for a donation of £15 per person, which goes towards their outreach programmes, and which should be paid at registration.

This opportunity is open to members only and places are limited so please do not delay.
