The Institution’s 140th President, centred his leadership term around the theme of Trust—a timely and vital topic in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. Drawing on over two decades of industry experience and volunteer service within the Institution, he calls attention to the vital relationship between technological progress and public trust. Citing the rigorous standards behind the technologies we rely on daily —from vehicles to infrastructure—Matt stresses the unseen, yet indispensable responsibility engineers hold in ensuring safety, efficiency, and ethical application.

The event schedule is as follows:

5:30–7:00 pm Optional Tour of Facilities (this has been arranged by the students and would include a group to accompany the president and yourselves, if you are available)
7:00–7:15 pm Arrival and Registration
7:15–7:30 pm Welcome

7:30–8:20 pm Presidential Address
8:20–9:30 pm Dinner and Networking

Coffee/tea will be served at 5:30 pm and also during dinner.
