Following the amazing talk by Gabriela Druitt about the role that Teledyne plays in space imaging, we are delighted to host this lecture highlighting the incredible work the company does in the medical field.
Teledyne e2v offers medical device companies a range of CCD and CMOS image sensor solutions and services. This includes Spectral-Domain OCT cameras for Optical Coherence Tomography imaging, X-ray dental sensors for intra-oral radiography and chip-on-the-tip CMOS image sensors for disposable and flexible endoscopes. They are also investigating imaging solutions for emerging markets such as robotic guided surgery.
Moving from diagnostic to treatment, Teledyne e2v's RF Power products are found in over 90% of the world’s radiotherapy platforms. They also develop and supply a range of magnetrons, thyratrons and solid-state modulators to all of the major radiotherapy systems manufacturers. With their knowledge of high voltage and RF power engineering, they are able to develop RF systems with components and interfaces that are optimised to work together to achieve the performance, reliability and ease of use expected in radiotherapy. They are committed to innovation, to develop fully integrated and tested RF sub-systems working in partnership with manufacturers for their future platforms.
After gaining a BSc from ARU in 1996, Nic Vincent began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at e2v. Following spells at some of the biggest names in the European medical technology sector, Nic rejoined Teledyne e2v in 2022 as Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
After gaining a BSc in Physics at Imperial College London, David Rowlands gained an MPhil and PhD from the University of Strathclyde. David's career at e2v began as a Development Engineer in 2008, becoming a Senior Engineer in 2013 before making the move to e2v China in 2014. David returned to Chelmsford in 2016 and now holds the position of Head of Product Development and Applications at Teledyne e2v.
