The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Space carry out world-class science research and technology development with significant involvement in more than 210 instruments on missions to date. Ian will talk about his work in the verification of spacecraft, a task which is critical in maximising the success of the mission.
Ian Horsfall worked for 20 years in the defence industry at a ballistics test laboratory. In 2018 he started a post-graduate course in Space Science and a year after completing the course he started work at RAL Space, thus achieving his life-long ambition. In his own words "I always wanted to be a rocket scientist; it just took me 50 years to get there."
