Amateur Radio In A Modern World

Registration is closed for this event
A FREE IET talk for the public by Andrew Tyler, Principal Engineer / NFTF Manager (BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Labs)

In 1900 Marconi patented the first practical wireless system. Within a few years Radio Amateurs worldwide were experimenting with the new medium. Very soon they were experimenting with the transmission of both speech and gramophone music. This talk looks at how Radio Amateurs continue to experiment and innovate and develop new transmission modes. The talk will look at what sort of people are Radio Amateurs, what they do and how you could become a Radio Amateur and take part in an exciting technical hobby.

Refreshments will be available from 30 minutes before the advertised start time.
