The Southend Virtual Career Fair launches on Tuesday 4th May, showcasing a range of employers and career opportunities available in and around your local area. The fair has a number of different sections including; creative, construction, digital, engineering and advanced manufacturing, finance, health and social care, hospitality and leisure, and the public sector.

In each section you will find a range of employer 'stands.' Visiting each 'stand', you can click to gain an understanding of what it is like to work for that company. The videos and activities highlight the diverse roles available and a range of employees including; graduates, apprentices and managing directors, share their experiences of working for the company.

The companies who are exhibiting include; Highways England, Morgan Sindall, Swan, BT, Raytheon, Teledyne e2v, Ipeco, Surgical Holdings, SES, Borough and County Councils, Essex Police and teaching in the County, The NatWest Group, NHS, Public Health England, Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society, Focal Point Gallery, McDonald’s and Carmel Jane Photography.

This fair is suitable for secondary aged pupils and supports STEM subjects as well as, PHSE, Careers Guidance (Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4, 5 and 7) history, geography, the arts, business studies, food and digital technology, technology and computing, etc.

There are many ways in which this career fair can be used, both in school and for home learning opportunities. Career worksheets, covering labour market information and curriculum learning are included and for teachers and educators there is a webinar to provide further support to enable the most effective use of the resource.

The Southend Virtual Career Fair will be available until the 31st of May 2021 and in addition during the week before half term (week beginning 31st May 2021) there will be live career talks; more information will be published about these talks in the week of 10th May.
