Meet the team

Roy has over 40 years' experience in the IT Industry. Latterly he ran a small IT Consultancy, and prior to that was IT Director of a Government Department for 15 years. Roy started his career at AEI, followed by a seven-year spell at Marconi Communications and then on to an IT Consultancy which was subsequently bought by IBM. He has seen many IT projects through their lifecycle and has advised Government and trade bodies, technology suppliers and business customers.

Roy is interested in the restoration of vintage motorcycles and cars, hi-fidelity audio and sport. He actively promotes the renewal and growth of STEM in schools, Apprenticeships, and local hi-tech design and manufacturing activities.

He broadened and revived the CSES Annual Schools' competition to include software and STEM Club projects, and is now focusing on Schools' and STEM liaison and outreach work on behalf CSES. Roy also works with disadvantaged young people to help them gain a good start in life and work.
