Dr Martay is a Senior Lecturer and the Course Leader of Medical Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) as well as a Senior Fellow within the Higher Education Academy. She is also the Lead of the Biomedical Engineering Research Group within ARU’s Medical Technology Research Centre.
Dr Martay completed undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Engineering as well as in German Studies (both at North Carolina State University [USA]). She then completed research internships at Duke University (USA) and RWTH Aachen (Germany) before completing a DPhil in Orthopaedic Engineering at the University of Oxford.
In addition to being an academic, Dr Martay is also a Professional Engineer, licensed to practice engineering in the state of Virginia (USA).
Dr Martay lives and works in Chelmsford. She particularly enjoys education and outreach events in local schools and with CSES.
