Gaia at Chelmsford Cathedral (Hands-on activities)

Join CSES for some half-term fun in the Cathedral grounds, alongside the Gaia exhibition

Gaia at Chelmsford Cathedral

Gaia is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring six metres in diameter and created from 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface, the artwork provides the opportunity to view the planet, floating in three dimensions.

During half-term, there will be events taking place for families and an opportunity to see Gaia spectacularly lit at night. On Tuesday 25 October, CSES will be running a selection of hands-on, family-friendly activities in the Cathedral grounds. Do come and say hi! We'll be doing similar at the Chelmsford Science Festival Family Science Day.

Gaia will be free to visit during the day, and open for special events throughout October, including some in conjunction with Chelmsford Science Festival.

See and book more half-term activities here (scroll down to 24-28 October).

Visit the Cathedral website to find out more and to book your visit to Gaia.
