From the early days of the industrial revolution, Chelmsford has been at the forefront of a wide range of innovations, from basis engineering right through to pioneering space technology.
The story starts with the an iron foundry and progresses on to Victorian mechanical and civil engineering, including railway engines and steam buses. The story continues with fantastic achievements in electrical manufacturing and inventions that would have a global influence, and finally we come to the present day and where all this technology from Chelmsford will take us next.
